{"id":20,"date":"2012-03-04T18:17:33","date_gmt":"2012-03-05T00:17:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oxfordhills.org\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2026-02-28T10:38:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T16:38:40","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oxfordhills.org\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford Hills Homes Association"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>Trash, Recycling, Yard Waste, and Large Item Pick Up<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\r\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Routine trash pickup for Oxford Hills is Friday.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><strong> GFL Environmental <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300; color: #333333;\">requests that we place trash, recycling, and yard waste at the curb by 6:30 am on collection day or the night before. <\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>According to Johnson County Solid Waste Code &#8211; Household trash that does not fit into the bins must be in trash bags and have an overage sticker attached in an area visible to the waste removal truck driver. Recycling and Yard Waste are not subject to this restriction.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>These overage stickers are available at the Hen House Guest Services Counter &#8211;\u00a011721 Roe Ave,\u00a0Leawood, KS 66211. Each sticker costs $1.25.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>Stickers may also be ordered from <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #00ff00;\">GFL Environmental<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>by calling <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"tel:(816)%20380-5595\">816-380-5595<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Yard Waste<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\r\n<p>GFL will collect up to 10 properly prepared bags and\/or bundles of residentially generated yard waste from each household once each week, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>March 1 through December 31st.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>Yard waste will consist of grass clippings, leaves and loose vegetation, small limbs and branches. Yard waste must be placed in biodegradable paper bags; or bundled and neatly placed at the curb for collection. No cans or other rigid containers can be used for yard waste disposal.<\/p>\r\n<p>Limbs and branches cannot be larger than 18 inches in diameter, four feet in length and must be tied in a bundle with twine. All items must be 40 pounds or less in weight. Plastic bags will not be accepted.<\/p>\r\n<p>Wood fencing, landscape timbers, flowerpots, yard decorations, mulch, rock, dirt and similar items will not be accepted. GFL will accept Christmas trees that have been cut into sections no more than four feet in length and all decorations and lights removed.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Recycling Items<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\r\n<p>Acceptable items include newspapers, magazines, phone books, catalogs, junk mail, envelopes, file folders, computer paper, construction paper, colored paper, flattened corrugated cardboard boxes, cereal and soda\/beer boxes, gift boxes, and wrapping paper. Containers including aluminum cans, aluminum foil, plastic bottles, jugs, metal cans, buckets, and other plastic containers (#1 through #7).<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Glass, Plastic Bags and Styrofoam will not be accepted.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Bulk Items<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\r\n<p>GFL will collect one complementary bulk item per quarter, per resident. Additional items at $50.00 per item. Residents will be responsible to call 816-380-5595 or kccustomercare@gflenv.com to be placed on the pickup schedule.
